Ophidia Rosa Deck
One of my favorite things about Instagram is finding amazing artists and writers that create beautiful tarot and oracle decks. I'll see a beautiful post that someone shared and immediately fall in love with the cards but it's not until I have the cards in hand that I truly fall in love. Things like cardstock and weight and size all play into my final thoughts about loving a deck. I should also mention that this is my very first deck review so I hope I cover all the important elements here.
Let me start by saying that I've been somewhat of a floral designer and my love of flowers is what drew me into these cards from the beginning. I love the botanical elements. The deck offers 78 hand illustrated and tea stained cards. As someone who has "tea stained" projects before I can say that I noticed that little detail right away and loved it. It gives the cards a little extra vintage feel. The cards come in a standard size and they shuffle with ease. One of my favorite features is how soft they are to the touch, slightly velvety. All of the cards offer an antique gold gilded edging as you can see from the images below. The cards also come in a beautifully designed keepsake box and includes a small folded paper with hand written meanings, simple and direct. This truly is a gorgeous deck and I highly recommend! I will say in my final thoughts that if you are new to tarot you might be inclined to learn the card meanings with a more in depth deck or tarot book. This deck is meant to be read intuitively.
On a personal note, I am a collector of tarot and oracle decks and even though I am still in the learning process I couldn't pass up this deck.
I thought I would share my top three favorite cards and their meanings from the creator. I could go on and on about all my favorites but for the sake of keeping things minimal I'll share my top three.
