Forgotten Legends Tarot

A few months ago I stumbled upon an artist on Instagram named Velga North who created the beautiful Forgotten Legends Tarot deck. I was instantly in love and not just with the deck! I literally wished I could live in her page. Everything from her photographs and vintage clothing to her illustrations and recipes are simply magical. She lives in a world I could only dream of. I sent her a message one day as I was trying to figure out how to purchase this deck since she is based in Moscow, Russia and I'm from the US, there was a bit of a language barrier. I could not seem to figure out how to translate the website into English. She was so kind and sent me directly to her publisher where I was eventually able to purchase the deck. It was a long process but mostly because of my own stupidity and I cannot thank the publisher Modern Magic Press enough.

The deck itself is written in English which makes it easy to read with and the guidebook is written in Russian however, any guidebook will work if you're still in the learning process. It reminds me of the renaissance era but since everything I've attempted to research about the artist and the deck is in a language I don't speak, I'm just going to quote from the pretty box this deck came with.

"FORGOTTEN LEGENDS TAROT IS THE AUTHORS TAROT DECK, THE WORLD OF AESTHETICS OF CARDS, ARCHETYPES AND FAIRYTALES. HERE ARE SLAVIC AND SCANDINAVIAN, CELTIC, GREEK AND MANY OTHER MYTHS AND LEGENDS, WHERE THE CHARACTERS ARE INTERTWINED WITH MODERN STYLE, AND IN SOME PLACES, WITH REAL PEOPLE. THE DECK WAS CREATED INTUITIVELY, BASED ON IMAGES FROM DREAMS, SENSATIONS AND AN INTERNAL UNDERSTANDING OF SYMBOLISM."

Each cards is unique and beautiful and I love the gold edging. The deck is a standard size and shuffles easily. If you're interested in purchasing the deck or just love the idea of following an amazing artist you can find her on Instagram @velga_north along with her publisher @modernmagic_shop
